Visibility Layers give you full control over who can see your location within a group — and when. Whether you want to be fully visible to everyone, share your location with just a few people, or disappear from the map entirely.
How to change your visibility
- Open HeyPolo and tap on the group you want to adjust:
- Tap My visibility:
- Adjust your visibility. Your updated visibility takes effect immediately. These settings will determine how other group members will see you:
- More precise – with this option selected, other members of the group will be able to see your exact location.
- More private – with this option selected, other members of the group will be able to see the neighborhood you are in.
- Additionally, by selecting When are you sharing, you can choose how long your location is shared with the group:
- All the time — your whereabouts will be shown 24/7 with no time restrictions.
- Repeating periods — your whereabouts will be shown repeatedly within a specific time range, letting you set recurring days and hours for sharing.
- One time — your whereabouts will be shown for a limited period of time, after which sharing stops automatically.
Things to keep in mind
- Changing your visibility does not remove you from the group — you stay a member and can still see others (depending on their own visibility settings).
- Changing your visibility is not the same as location sharing being off. If location sharing is disabled at the device level, HeyPolo cannot share your location regardless of your visibility settings.
- Other group members are not notified when you change your visibility.
- Your visibility settings are saved per group — adjusting one group does not affect your settings in other groups.
