For HeyPolo to connect you with your loved ones and provide reassuring, real-time location updates, it needs to run in the background. Modern smartphones have battery optimization features designed to save power by limiting what apps can do when you're not actively using them. While this is great for your battery life, it can prevent HeyPolo from working as intended.
This guide will show you how to turn off battery optimization for HeyPolo to ensure the app can always show your location correctly and safely.
Here's what to do
-
For Android devices:
- Open the "Settings" app.
- Tap "Apps."
- Find "HeyPolo" in the list.
- Tap "Battery."
- Tap "Unrestricted" or "No restrictions." This feature does not allow the system to put the app to deep sleep to save power.
NOTE: The steps for Android may vary depending on operating system version and device manufacturer.
-
For iOS devices:
- Open the "Settings" app.
- Scroll down and tap on "Battery."
- Turn off the toggle for Low Power mode if it is toggled on.
NOTE: Low Power Mode also automatically disables Background App Refresh, which is essential for HeyPolo. By keeping Low Power Mode off, you ensure that HeyPolo can refresh its location in the background and keep your circle connected.
